Phoenix, Arizona – Zaxbys® is expanding its presence in the Western United States with the grand opening of its first location in Phoenix, set for August 13, 2025. The new restaurant will be located at 37756 N Gantzel Rd., San Tan Valley, and will offer both dine-in and drive-thru services to cater to the local community.
The restaurant, owned and operated by Brian and Jessica Nelson of BOCKBOCK, LLC, will feature a Modern Farmhouse design and will span 3,000 square feet. The seating capacity will accommodate 56 guests indoors, while the facility will also include a dual drive-thru and curbside pickup to enhance customer convenience. To mark the occasion, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for August 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time, with Zaxbys Chief Operating Officer, Sharlene Smith, participating in the celebration.
As part of the grand opening festivities, the first 100 guests on August 19 will receive free Zaxbys for six months, redeemed through rotating weekly comp card offers. The event will feature a range of activities including a 360° photo booth experience, a live DJ, selfie photo opportunities with Zaxbys props, and a chance to spin the Zaxbys prize wheel for additional prizes.
Zaxbys is known for its diverse menu that includes fan-favorite items such as Chicken Fingerz™, Big Zax Snak® Meal, the Zaxbys Signature Sandwich, Chicken Bacon Ranch Loaded Fries, and various flavored Milkshakes. The chain aims to open 1,000 locations by the end of 2025, continuing to build on its reputation in the Southeastern U.S. while making significant strides into the Western market.
The establishment of this location is expected to create up to 70 new jobs for local residents. Zaxbys recently opened additional locations in other states, including Nevada earlier in 2025, as part of its ongoing expansion strategy. Customers will have the convenience of ordering online through the company’s website, mobile app, and popular delivery services such as DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats, and EZCater.
The construction of the new restaurant was managed by local contractor Marsh Development, Inc. Zaxbys currently has over 980 locations across 19 states, and this new opening marks a significant milestone in the chain’s growth trajectory as it brings its iconic brand and beloved menu items to the Phoenix area. The Nelsons have expressed intentions to open additional Zaxbys locations in Phoenix in the future, forging deeper ties with the local community.
