Phoenix, AZ – Tools 4 School, the largest backpack and school supply giveaway in Arizona, is set to take place on Saturday, July 12, from 7 to 9 a.m. at Sun Valley Academy, located at 2675 W Baseline Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85041. This event, now in its 13th year, aims to assist families in need by providing essential school supplies to students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

The annual initiative is expected to draw thousands of families eager for the free supplies that will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early as the supplies must be distributed directly to students who need them.

The Tools 4 School event is made possible through collaborative efforts with several partners, including the Sun Valley Foundation, the American Legion Travis L. Williams Post 65, Arizona Public Service (APS), Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona State University (ASU), HeroZona Foundation, Helios Education Foundation, and SRP. This coalition underscores the importance of community involvement in ensuring children have the resources they need to thrive in their educational pursuits.

The event seeks to fulfill the belief that every child deserves to start the school year equipped for success. Organizers emphasize the significance of providing necessary materials that can alleviate the financial burdens faced by many families at the beginning of the academic year.

In addition to the Tools 4 School event, other upcoming initiatives aim to support students and families in the Phoenix area. A New Leaf donation center will host a school supply drop-off throughout the week leading up to July 23, providing additional opportunities for community members to contribute.

Furthermore, the Chandler Fashion Center is organizing a “Back-to-School Bash” featuring carnival games and sneaker customization, catering to the community’s back-to-school festivities. Fulton Homes is also launching the “Stuff the Bus” program and a variety of events intended to assist financially struggling families with school supplies.

Various organizations, including the Children’s Cancer Network and the Equality Health Foundation, are collecting donations for different educational initiatives. The Foster Alliance is committed to helping foster children with its Back-to-School Program, providing them with necessary supplies and backpacks.

The Salvation Army has introduced the Backpack SOS program, encouraging local residents to drop off school supplies at Fry’s Food Stores from July 7 through July 27. In addition, Adelante Healthcare is hosting a Super Bash on July 19, where K-12 students will receive free backpacks alongside access to essential community resources.

Overall, the Tools 4 School event and its supportive community programs highlight the collective effort of various organizations and individuals to ensure a successful academic year for all children in Phoenix. The goal remains to equip students with the supplies they need to begin the school year strong.
