Tempe, Arizona – The highly anticipated Fan Festival featuring Sparky and the ASU Spirit Squad is set to take place today from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Mountain America Stadium. This free event aims to kick off the Sun Devil football season, providing fans and families with an exciting array of activities and entertainment.

Access to the festival will be granted through both the north gates and the southwest gates of the stadium, with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. The festival promises a family-friendly atmosphere, highlighted by the Family Fun Zones sponsored by Smashburger. Attendees can engage in activities designed to entertain participants of all ages, and several opportunities for photo sessions with Sparky and the Spirit Squad will be available throughout the event.

The festival kicks off with a Cheer 101 session led by the Sun Devil Spirit Squad at 5:30 p.m., providing an interactive experience for those looking to learn some cheerleading basics. Various football-related activities will commence at 6:00 p.m. and continue until 7:30 p.m., culminating in a stunning fireworks display presented by Multi-Pro Roof Solutions, which will follow immediately at 7:45 p.m.

Fans attending the festival will have the chance to win exclusive prizes, including a 2025 Sun Devil VIP road game experience. The first 500 attendees will receive special commemorative Coca-Cola bottles celebrating the Sun Devils’ Big 12 Championship season. Additional Coca-Cola bottles will be available for sale at a later date for those who miss out.

Exclusive Sun Devil apparel, including game-worn jerseys and helmets, will be available at a pop-up gear shop hosted by the ASU Bookstore and Sun Devil Athletics. Moreover, HUSS Brewing will debut their new Devil’s Halo craft beer, with a portion of sales going to the Sun Angel Collective in support of student athletes. Food options at the event include food trucks such as Venezia’s Pizzeria, Kona Ice, and Rudy’s BBQ located outside the stadium. Inside, fans can enjoy a beer garden along with classic stadium food like hot dogs, popcorn, and burgers.

The event is free to attend, and representatives will be on-site to assist fans with season ticket selection. Free parking will be accessible in the north end zone and stadium parking garage, with additional lots available at Packard Stadium and in areas 58 and 59.

The ASU Spirit Squad, which is the official cheer and dance team representing Sun Devil Athletics, includes multiple teams such as the cheer, dance, and ambassador teams. The Spirit Squad has a proud history marked by national titles and honors in cheerleading and dance competitions. Since the establishment of the Spirit Squad Club by the ASU Alumni Association in September 2021, former members of the squad have had the opportunity to reconnect and support current members.

Mountain America Stadium features a clear bag policy to enhance safety and expedite game day entry for fans. Various prohibited items have been identified under this policy to maintain a secure environment for all attendees. The Federal Aviation Administration has also imposed a Temporary Flight Restriction over the stadium before and after games to ensure safety.

Fans are welcome to bring personal cameras, though specific limitations apply, and professional cameras require credentials. The stadium is equipped with ADA accommodations, offering designated seating and courtesy cart services for disabled guests, making the event accessible to everyone. The Sun Devil Marching Band will also be present, adding to the festivities and game-day atmosphere known for its high standards and dynamic performances.

The mountain design and history of Mountain America Stadium span over 60 years, with a seating capacity of 53,599. The stadium supports sustainability initiatives, including recycling and zero waste participation, reinforcing a commitment to the environment while entertaining fans. The Fan Festival promises to deliver high-energy performances alongside interactive experiences, setting an exciting tone for the upcoming football season.
