Prescott Valley officials are probing a series of tragic incidents, including a rollover crash that left a 25-year-old man critically injured and a paragliding accident resulting in the death of a 27-year-old man. Prescott Valley officials are investigating a string of tragic incidents that have resulted in fatalities and serious injuries. A 25-year-old man is in critical condition following a rollover crash in which he was ejected from his vehicle, while a 27-year-old man was killed in a paragliding accident shortly thereafter.
The rollover crash occurred on Thursday, June 26, around 5:43 p.m. when the driver of a 2003 Ford F-350 truck lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. This led to multiple rollovers off the roadway. Emergency responders transported the driver to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Prescott Valley police are currently conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the crash.
In a separate incident, Dylan Wallace, a 27-year-old from Prescott Valley, died following a freak paragliding accident. This incident occurred on Friday morning at around 7:45 a.m. A Chino Valley police officer witnessed Wallace’s powered paraglider make a sudden maneuver before it crashed. The officer promptly called 911 and proceeded to the crash site, which was near a small vegetation fire ignited by the incident. Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has expressed condolences to Wallace’s family and is thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
In addition to these recent incidents, Prescott Valley police have also arrested Daniel Lee Jones in connection with a fatal crash that occurred on November 12, 2024. This incident resulted in the death of a teenager who was riding his bicycle. The crash took place near Viewpoint and Manley Drives, and the injured teen was flown to a Phoenix hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Jones, who is facing charges of manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs, was arrested on January 15. Toxicology tests indicated that he was impaired at the time of the crash.
Lastly, another crash involving a three-wheeled motorcycle took place on December 31. The motorcyclist rear-ended another vehicle, ultimately causing the motorcycle to flip over. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, though their identity has not yet been disclosed. Witnesses noted that the motorcycle had been lane splitting and traveling in the median just before the collision, raising questions about safety practices on the road.
