Kicking off the week on May 5, legendary musician James Taylor will take the stage with his All-Star Band at the PHX Arena, starting at 7:30 p.m. A variety of other events also occupy the opening day, including a three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks facing off against the New York Mets.

As part of the Cinco de Mayo celebrations, several festivities will take place throughout the Valley. Notable events include a gathering at The Pemberton featuring mezcal and tequila tastings, fireside cooking demos, and piñata activities from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Recreo Cantina will host a three-day fiesta filled with live music and food vendors, while Diego Pops in Old Town Scottsdale offers carnival games and a mechanical taco attraction. The 32nd Cinco Phoenix Festival promises local and national bands, with tickets priced from $15. Additionally, a Scottsdale bar crawl will be available with all-access passes ranging from $25 to $65.

On May 8, families can enjoy a puppet show titled The Princess, The Unicorn and the Smelly-Foot Troll, hosted at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater. Ticket prices are set at $15 for adults and $10 for children. The same day, the musical Camelot will be performed at the Hale Centre Theatre, with various showings throughout the week, tickets ranging from $39 to $58.

The excitement continues on May 9 with a highly anticipated concert featuring The Weeknd and Playboi Carti at State Farm Stadium at 7 p.m. Music lovers can also look forward to the musical production of Disney’s Moana Jr., set to run from May 9 to May 25 at the Gyder Theater, located at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts.

On May 10, the local community can indulge in the Mama’s Makers Market at The Shops at Town & Country from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Simultaneously, the Full Moon Tour at the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with tickets priced at $40. For wine enthusiasts, the Verde Valley Wine Festival will take place at Riverfront Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with entry tickets starting at $20. Sports fans can also catch the Arizona Rattlers as they compete against the Bay Area Panthers at Desert Diamond Arena on the same day.

Concluding the week’s events, the Phoenix Mercury will face off against the Golden State Valkyries at the PHX Arena on May 11. Times and ticket prices are available upon inquiry.
