Since the start of May, the Salvation Army has already provided relief to approximately 16,500 people in Arizona, distributing more than 53,000 bottles of water in the process.

Colonel Charles Fowler, Commander of The Salvation Army Southwest Division, emphasizes the importance of community involvement, urging residents to check on their neighbors who may be vulnerable to dehydration or other heat-related health issues. On days of excessive heat, most relief stations also allow leashed dogs to accompany their owners.
Maricopa County has extended its heat relief services and will keep various heat relief sites open until September 30 for residents lacking access to cool indoor environments. Since these sites opened on May 1, they have recorded 5,700 visits.
