Mesa, Arizona – Hadrian, a company focused on AI-powered manufacturing, is set to launch a new facility in Mesa, Arizona, with an investment of $200 million. The facility, termed “Factory 3,” will span 270,000 square feet and is anticipated to create 350 local jobs.
This new site will be situated at The Cubes in the Pecos Road Advanced Manufacturing Zone. It represents a significant boost to the local economy, according to Mesa Vice Mayor Scott Somers, who highlighted the job creation and economic opportunities the investment brings to the area.
Hadrian is known for utilizing artificial intelligence to drive efficiency in manufacturing, primarily supporting the defense sectors. Their operations are expected to commence by 2026, marking a strategic addition to the already growing hub of aerospace and defense companies in Mesa.
The $200 million investment is part of a broader financial strategy, which includes $260 million in Series C financing aimed at expanding Hadrian’s operations. Since their previous financing round, the company has experienced significant growth, achieving 10x year-over-year increases.
Hadrian’s business model is referred to as “Factories-as-a-Service,” designed to facilitate quick scaling in production. This model allows them to produce aerospace and defense components much more quickly than traditional methods, boasting a production rate up to 10 times faster. The new Mesa facility is expected to take advantage of its proximity to the Phoenix tech corridor and nearby Luke Air Force Base, which may enhance collaboration and innovation within the defense sector.
In terms of workforce development, Hadrian plans to offer competitive compensation for the new positions that will largely focus on high-skill fields such as engineering and operations. Importantly, the company is committed to training new employees on the job, welcoming individuals with no prior factory experience.
The establishment of Hadrian’s facility follows a trend of aerospace and defense companies choosing Mesa as their operational base. There are currently more than 30 aerospace and defense firms functioning in the Mesa Gateway area, including high-profile organizations such as Virgin Galactic. With Hadrian’s growing presence, Mesa strengthens its reputation as a national hub for advanced manufacturing and defense innovation.
Moving forward, Hadrian has plans to announce and develop an additional four to five manufacturing facilities focused on defense needs within the next year, indicating a robust commitment to expanding its footprint and ensuring that American industrial capabilities remain competitive on a global scale, especially in the wake of increasing competition from countries like China.
As Hadrian moves toward the operational launch of Factory 3, the company remains focused on enhancing America’s manufacturing capacity in the aerospace and defense sectors, presenting a promising opportunity for local employment and economic growth in Mesa.
