In their opening game on March 21, 2025, ASU lost a close match to San Diego State, with a final score of 3-2. The game was filled with tension as ASU managed to tie the score in the second inning, thanks to a sacrifice fly from Kelsey Hall. Tanya Windle then gave ASU a brief lead with a double in the sixth inning.
