The first of these victims was discovered at the scene of a vehicular accident near 23rd Street and Southern Avenue. The additional victim was located outside a nearby Burger King, where he informed officers that he had sustained gunshot wounds related to the home invasion.
According to police reports, the home invasion involved multiple men who forcibly entered the residence, with at least one of them armed. A resident present in the home was also armed and exchanged gunfire with the intruders. As the confrontation escalated, the resident initially took cover after successfully injuring one of the invaders. However, he re-emerged upon hearing a relative’s call for assistance and subsequently fired upon the remaining intruder, fatally wounding him.
