Bryce was born in Michigan to Bryce and Marian Seaman, and he moved to Phoenix at the age of four. After graduating from Central High School in the Class of 1960, he pursued higher education at the University of Arizona. Bryce dedicated 39 years of his career to Coulter Cadillac, ultimately retiring in 2008.

His involvement in sports began in 1963 when he started refereeing high school football. Over nearly half a century, he completed his 50th football season in 2012. Bryce’s significant contributions were recognized when he was inducted as an Honorary Life member into the Arizona Football Officials Association Hall of Fame in the same year.

In addition to football, Bryce also played a crucial role in the growth of soccer in Arizona. After the sport was officially sanctioned by the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) in 1980, Bryce officiated the first State Championship game. His expertise and dedication were acknowledged in 1984 when he was named the Most Outstanding Soccer Official in Arizona. Furthermore, he served on the CAFOA board for 13 years, including nine years as Secretary, and received the prestigious National Distinguished Service Award in 1996.

Following his retirement from officiating, Bryce continued to give back to the community by volunteering at the airport with the Phoenix Navigators organization, logging an impressive 3,397 hours of service over 16 years starting in 2009.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bryce was a devoted husband to Helene, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage. Together, they raised two children, Dorice and Mark, and shared a love for outdoor activities including boating, camping, and even hosting an annual Easter softball game. They also cherished their travels, often visiting their timeshare in Hawaii. As proud grandparents, Bryce and Helene attended numerous activities for their four grandchildren, Casey, Krista, Brooke, and Nicholas.
